MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING THAT SERVES THE COMMUNITY

The Joshua Eyer Development Institute (JEDI BLUE) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening those who serve our communities by providing free, high-quality martial arts training to first responders, veterans & their families.

Named in honor of Officer Joshua Eyer of Charlotte, North Carolina, JEDI BLUE was founded on the belief that service, discipline, and resilience deserve to be supported—both on and off duty. Our programs are designed to empower participants physically, mentally, and emotionally, fostering confidence, accountability, and community through structured martial arts instruction.

JEDI BLUE offers no-cost training in disciplines including MMA, wrestling, boxing, and foundational martial arts. Our programs serve:

  • First responders and veterans
  • Children of first responders and veterans (ages 7–21)

Youth Mentorship

JEDI BLUE’s Youth Mentorship program guides young participants in developing confidence, discipline, and leadership through martial arts. By combining structured training with positive role models, we teach respect, accountability, and resilience that extend beyond the mat.

Heroes Training

JEDI BLUE’s Heroes Training program is dedicated to first responders, veterans, and their families, providing no-cost martial arts instruction to strengthen body, mind, and spirit. Participants develop practical skills, mental resilience, and confidence while connecting with a supportive community that understands the demands of service.

  • Supportive Community: Builds camaraderie and peer support among participants, fostering connection and well-being both on and off duty.
  • Strength and Resilience: Provides first responders, veterans, and their families with martial arts training to enhance physical fitness, mental toughness, and confidence.

INTAKE CRITERIA OF MARTIAL ARTS

Qualification Criteria

  • First Responders, Active Military, Reserves, and Veterans
  • Children (ages 7–21) of all the above-mentioned groups

Additional Requirements:

  • Adult participants must be willing to complete a background check
  • Veterans/Military participants must provide proof of service
  • Veterans must provide documentation confirming an Honourable Discharge
